Iveshead School

As a Governor at Iveshead School, another governor and I volunteered to put together a monthly quarter-page ‘advert’ to go into our local “Your Local” village magazine. We call it “Spotlight On Iveshead”.

As the name suggests, we take different subjects each month and work with staff to produce relevant articles we hope will be of interest to our local community. Our focus ranges from different academic subjects, to new initiatives, projects, trips, clubs or facilities, to Ofsted reports and exam results.

I enjoy finding different ways to present each month’s content in the most efficient, effective and pleasing ways. Where possible, we aim to combine concise text-based articles with photography and images, along with bullet points or featured quotes, where appropriate, to add visual interest.

Here’s a few examples:

Occasionally, we take the opportunity to produce a larger article when we feel more space is required to properly convey or show-off our subject matter – such as here, where we used an A5 article to explain the new perimeter fencing – and further below, as a full A4 page, when we wanted to share progress on the school expansion project.
